Baule spirit figure

A finely made female ‘spirit spouse’ statue of the Baule, made of hardwood, with partially black glossy surface and remains of red pigment. The toes of one foot and one hand are missing.
The height of the statue including the black wooden stand is 34cm.

First half 20th century.
